A New Home For Palpung Yeshe Chokhor

Thanks to the generous support of devoted students, Thöpaga Foundation is pleased to announce that we have taken the first step towards the fulfillment of our plans to create the Palpung Yeshe Chokhor worship ,study and practice centre. We have purchased a property in Erin Township. This is a desirable location situated within a 90 minute driving distance of Mississauga, Guelph and the Kitchener -Waterloo area. There is a small house on the property that will serve as a residence for Lama Phuntsok as well as the office for Palpung Yeshe Chokhor. Future plans will focus on the creation of a teaching space and meditation hall. In the near future, regular teachings will be offered. Lama Phuntsok will travel to Mississauga, the Kitchener Waterloo area, as well as other locations such as London to offer the authentic teachings of the Palpung lineage.

We have set the moving date for Friday July 9 and Saturday July 10. Friday evening we will need volunteers to help with loading the truck in Kitchener. On Saturday, help would be appreciated at the property for cleaning and unloading. If you are interested in helping, please contact us by email at office@palpung.net.

Our new address is: 4974 4th Line Erin ON L7J 2L8

We wish to thank you for all the ongoing support you have offered. Your generosity has brought us this far and will continue to move us into the future.

Summer Picnic

We would like to welcome you to celebrate our new beginning in Erin Township by inviting you to a summer potluck picnic on Saturday July 24. This fun filled family event will begin at 1:00 pm. Please bring your lawn chairs, sunscreen and picnic goodies and come on out to Palpung Yeshe Chokhor's new home for a day of relaxation and camaraderie. In keeping with our commitment to be gentle with our Mother Earth we ask that you try to bring non-disposable dishes, cutlery, napkins etc. if possible. Together we can take small but important steps to helping our environment.

Community Involvement

Through Lama Phuntsok our presence is becoming established in our local community. Lama Phuntsok gave a special address at the recent Tibetan Peace Concert that was held at Kitchener's city hall . He also speaks at local high schools every semester. Additionally, he is a member of the Interfaith Grand River Council and acts as the Tibetan Buddhist representative. He has joined the spiritual care provider team at Grand River Hospital and with ACCKWA, our local aids committee.

Meditation Advisors

Lama Phuntsok has appointed some senior students to serve as meditation advisors for anyone who would like to have an experienced fellow practitioner available to offer support and answer questions. More information about the meditation advisor's role can be found by clicking on the link above
